IM UPDATING MY XANGA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thursday, April 19, 2007

I love life.

Health. Exercise. Beauty. They are all gifts from above.

I went running tonight for the first time in a couple of weeks. It felt so good. Everything was so beautiful. Running of all things, energizes me like nothing else can. It's amazing to me how God worked out our bodies so that with health and exercise, everything is so crisp and clear.

Yet with laziness and the drugs which we all consume these days, life is so black and stripped from its colors.

I love a God who can produce beauty far greater than the eye can contain or the mind can comprehend.

First week of business travel...

Monday

1:00 a.m. go to bed after hanging out with liz and christine wagley in mcallen, TX.

4:50 a.m. wake up, get dressed, go to the airport.

1:30 p.m. after lots of airport fun, find “grandpa” (retiring co-worker who I’m replacing) and head to the hotel.

2:30-3:30 p.m. grandpa and I put down $130 worth of food and drink.

4:30 p.m. find out that our only meeting for the day (5 o’clock) is cancelled

6:30 p.m. meet up with our corn-plastic specialist and head to the hotel penthouse for drinks.

7:30-9:00 p.m. dinner at Vips-walmart owned chilis style restaurant

9-10 p.m. wireless internet in room, shower, then to sleep.

Tuesday
7:00 a.m. get up

7:45 a.m. meet the other two guys for breakfast downstairs.

9:00 a.m. leave for sabritas (a.k.a. frito lay/pepsico) meeting at 10:00

10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. had an excellent meeting with the research and design guys.

2:00 p.m.-3:30 p.m. took our nowpack guy who works with frito lay out for lunch...the four of us put down another $140 worth of seafood and beverages.

4:30 p.m. -5:00 p.m. made a couple of calls to try and confirm meetings.

5:15 p.m.-6:00 p.m. checked out the hotel gym and found out that at 1.4 miles of altitude you are gasping in just a few minutes of normal workout/run.

6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. grandpa and I walked through an antique mall, a handicraft mall and hit up a small bakery for dinner.

Wednesday

We had a good meeting with about 6 guys and from there on out, I don’t really remember, we probably ate well..

Thursday

7:00 a.m. get up

7:45 a.m. hotel breakfast with grandpa

8:15 a.m. leave for first 9:00 a.m. appointment. Chauffer gets miserably lost and it takes until about 10:15 to get there.

10:45 a.m. leave for next appointment. Driver has a miserable time finding this as well, we arrive about 11:45 a.m.

1:30 p.m. arrive on time for the next appointment.

3:00 p.m. stop for lunch until about 3:45

4:15 p.m. arrive for another appointment. (it was great, btw.)

7:00 p.m. meet up with yet another guy for a couple of hours.

10:37 p.m. I’m tired, have had a mild stomach bug and I’m ready for bed. Not really looking forward to spending all day in airports tomorrow.

Friday

7:00 a.m. get up

7:45 a.m. leave for airport

(time in and out of airports. L )

6:00 p.m. get home

God is amazing.
He seems to have yet a new special forceful way to 'gently' smack me in the face and say, "No, that's not my way."

I never seem to see it coming.
I'm just glad He does it, over and over and over.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Looks like Joel, Micah and I will be moving into a house soon. We might drag Micah's bro Ian with us, too.
Life is good. Work is good. God is good.
You cannot walk with God and run with the Devil
I read this today, and thought it was well said. Enough to share it w/you.
-----
What would you think of a restaurant chef who decided that the weights and measures in a recipe were "a needless bother" and ignored them in preparing your dinner?
What would you think of an auto mechanic who decided that a sledgehammer and machete were just as good as metric tools when it came to servicing your car?
What would you think of a surgeon who used hedge clippers because "I was never much good with a scalpel"?
Probably you would use someone else's services. Why? Because how you do something is as important as what you do. Well-meaning, inept chefs, mechanics and surgeons just don't get the job done.
Think of worship the same way. It's not enough to want to worship God---you must consider carefully how you worship God. You cannot approach a holy God with soiled hands or an unclean heart. You cannot expect to please God by offering him what is unacceptable to him. You cannot call something insignificant when God has called it indispensable.
